Jules de Groot Clinical Excellence Award

Criteria:

The Jules de Groot Memorial Award for Excellence in Clinical Psychology Practice is established in honour of the memory of University of Queensland clinical psychology alumni Dr. Jules de Groot. Jules is fondly remembered as a dedicated clinical psychologist, gifted in her capacity to help others, and a consummate professional psychologist. The award is presented to a graduating student completing a qualification in clinical psychology who has excelled in their professional practice across the course of their practicum work .

Process:

The award winner will be selected using the following process:

  1. A member of the Clinical Teaching Team will call for nominations for a recipient of the award from all post graduate externship and internship supervisors.
  2. Individuals that receive nominations from two or more of the people that have supervised them will be shortlisted, and then rank ordered on the basis of their MSAT performance demonstrating clinical skills at the end of their internship.
  3. The clinical teaching team will consider the nominees and their rank ordering and determine who is to receive the award.
