The Psychology Open Day is a showcase of past successes and future pathways of the School of Psychology.
The day will begin with a welcoming conversation with the Head of School on major achievements of the School in the past 100 years and strategic directions in the next century (10:30 am to 11am).
This will be followed by brief presentations on current cutting edge research in the School by professors in clinical psychology, developmental, social, and neuroscience (11am to 12).
Over a catered lunch break (12 to 2pm), the research and applied work of current Psychology staff and students will be featured in an interactive “poster-style” session. Posters will be selected to represent the breadth and depth of research and applied practice training within the School.
After a talk on psychology and emerging technologies (2 to 2:30pm), a highlight of the day will be the inaugural presentation of UQ Psychology Distinguished Alumni Awards in the afternoon (2:30pm to 4), followed by a wine and cheese hour (4 to 5pm). The awards will honour three successful graduates for their achievements in practice, research, teaching, or community service.
