Is it possible to prevent Alzheimer's disease?
More than 260,000 Australians are living with dementia and Alzheimer’s disease, and this number is expected to rise to nearly a million by the middle of the century. Professor Kaarin Anstey will discuss the current state of knowledge about Alzheimer’s disease and possibilities for its prevention.
Kaarin Anstey is a Professor of psychology at Australian National University and Director of both the Dementia Collaborative Research Centre and the Ageing Research Unit at the Centre for Mental Health Research. Her research focuses on chronic disease and mental health, prevention of dementia, and the impact of cognitive decline on productive ageing.
