Surviving Multiples: Adapting Triple P Group for Multiple-birth Families.

Time: 4-5:30pm
Location: Room S227, Social
Sciences Building
Wine and cheese provided.
Multiple-birth families are at a greater risk of experiencing psychosocial
issues, such as parental stress, relationship discord, financial stress,
substance abuse, child developmental delay and possible child abuse.
Recently multiple births have significantly increased, yet little attention
has been given to their unique parenting needs. These families may also be
less likely to access 'standard' parenting programs, due to childcare and
lack of support networks. Triple P has been adapted to meet the special
needs of multiple-birth families. This presentation will invite discussion
on the research opportunities in this unique area of parenting.
