CHOICE (Centre for Health Outcome, Innovation and Clinical Education) seminar series.

Speaker: Dr Genevieve Dingle

Title: Music and Mental Health – across the spectrum

Abstract: This seminar will introduce practitioners to the ways in which music can be used to enhance mental health, across the spectrum from wellbeing in non-clinical samples to those experiencing clinical problems such as academic anxiety, externalising problems, substance abuse, and chronic mental illness. I will share some assessment measures for identifying clients who are likely to respond to a music intervention, and some activities from the Tuned In Teens program (a group music emotion regulation intervention).

CHOICE seminars will take place monthly (with the exception of July and December) — 4 taking place at the University and 3 in clinic/hospital settings.

The University-based seminars will take place at a regular day and time — the second Wednesday of the month, 4-5pm – followed by drinks and cheese.
