Friday July 28th [3pm]
Professor Robert Hill, University of Utah speaking on "Affect and Cognitive Functioning in Old Age"
Room 302-303
This presentation examines the mediational influence of affect as an individual difference variable on cognitive performance in old age. Three
studies are described that examine this issue as it relates to both positive and negative affect. Reserve capacity, and the role that affect plays in accessing cognitive reserve, is postulated as the mechanism for this relationship.
