Excellence in Psychology: How UQ is changing the world.

UQ is home to one of the top psychology departments in the world. This special event showcases how UQ Psychology innovations have the potential to spark social change for the benefit of all. The event will feature displays and demonstrations of leading research teams within the School. A special presentation by Professor Matt Sanders, Founder of the Triple P Positive Parenting Program, will highlight the impact UQ Psychology is having on the world stage. The event is open to all to attend.

Abstract:

The discipline of psychology has enormous potential to change the world. Using Triple P as an exemplar, this presentation will highlight how a UQ innovation has impacted the lives of millions of people globally. Professor Matt Sanders, Founder of Triple P, will share his unique insights gained through over 35 years of research at UQ in developing one of the most successful social science innovations in the world today. He will highlight the importance of research excellence, innovation, having a global network of partners, and describe how Psychology at UQ is now better placed than ever before to lead discovery of new knowledge tackling major social, health and environmental problems around the world.
