Most unusual job you ever had?

Unusual is a bit of a strong term but I spent a number of years working in a variety of chocolate stores – you get to eat as much as you like while working but you get pretty sick of it after a while. In one store we made all our own luxury chocolates which was a fun skill to learn. Customers are also pretty easy going when there’s the scent of chocolate in the air!

What’s your favourite way to spend a weekend or a Sunday afternoon?

I love to read, but in reality it would probably be a rainy weekend with Netflix, board games and friends. We have a weekly board game with friends that is often geeky to the extreme.

What most excites you about your work & the contribution you can make?

I love being involved at both the beginning and end of the undergraduate program. First years are always so sweet and the questions they ask can be quite funny, while being able to watch proudly as our fourth years march across the graduation stage is such a thrill every year! Solving problems and connecting with people are my favourite activities at work, which means I am always up for a chat. It is so lovely to help a student with the right advice and get them to where they want to be.
